What the pack is

The pack is a small resource pack named “MarkClient Server Settings”. It changes no textures. It only tells MarkClient which modules players may use in your world. Players without MarkClient download it like any other pack and see no difference.

How to add it

Single-player, LAN or Realm

  1. Open the downloaded .mcpack file. Minecraft imports it.
  2. In the world’s settings, open Resource Packs and activate “MarkClient Server Settings”.
  3. For a Realm, upload the world as usual.

Bedrock Dedicated Server

  1. Unzip the .mcpack into a folder in resource_packs/.
  2. Add the pack to the world’s world_resource_packs.json with the uuid and version shown after the download.
  3. Set texturepack-required=true in server.properties so every player downloads it.

The pack must be a world pack, not a global pack. MarkClient ignores a pack activated under Settings, Global Resources. This also means players can’t override your rules with their own pack.

Each download gets a new uuid. A new download does not replace the old pack in your world, so remove the old pack and add the new one.

What players see

A module or setting you turn off is switched off for the player. It can’t be switched back on while they are in your world, and the menu says “disabled by server”. A chat line tells them when something they had on was turned off. When they leave your world, they get it back.

Cosmetics are client-only. A server can’t turn them off and they always stay on.

Servers and Realms without this pack use MarkClient’s defaults. Single-player worlds allow everything.

Edit markclient.json by hand

You can also open the pack and edit markclient.json yourself. Raise the version in manifest.json after an edit so players download the new copy.

A module is either an access value or an object with access and settings. An access value is one of these:

Use the module and setting names from the MarkClient menu. Replay has the setting “Record everything”. Set it to "disabled" to make players record only what they can see.
